Turned toward the sun ─

A (Balanced) Wellness Guide to Park City

My husband and I spend a lot of time in Park City. He used to shoot a show called Everwood here and has been calling it a home away from home ever since. We love it so much we got married here this past summer! So I thought I'd share a little love for this special place and a (balanced) wellness guide to Park City - I just couldn't leave out the best places to indulge and Après! ;)

Utah is known for having some of the best mountains to ski in North America and for its quality of snow. Because of the high elevation of Utah's mountains and the low humidity (its surrounded by desert) there is no excess moisture in the air which creates snow that is light and fluffy... the perfect "champagne powder". Because of these great conditions it was home to the 2002 Winter Olympics, and Park City is home to the US Ski Team. It's also home to the Sundance Film Fest.

Truly a skiers paradise - there are three ski resorts in Park City all within a five mile radius:

Park City Mountain Resort
Deer Valley
The Canyons

And a short drive away there is Snowbird, Alta, Brighton, Solitude, Snow Basin, Powder Mountain, and Sundance.

I love that it feels like a quaint little small town (it literally looks like a village in a snow globe in the winter) yet it has all of the best things of a metropolitan city, filled with incredible restaurants, cocktail bars, and boutiques for shopping. It also has a really warm and friendly local culture. With the stunning mountains and fresh air, you can't help but want to be outside exploring...Park City is a peaceful inspiring place where living in the moment comes naturally.

So here is a list of our some of our fav spots!

EXCERCISE

SKIING! Deer Valley is my personal fav because of its pristine groomers. They also make the most delicious Deer Valley Cookies, best eaten fireside! My second favorite would be Snowbird, which I just tried for the first time this year. At 11,000 ft its soaring rugged mountains remind of my hometown's mountain - Whistler!

Hiking - there are so many incredible trails to walk and hike in Park City - the Sweeney Switchbacks in old town is our favorite place to take our pup!

REST & RELAXATION

The Spa at the Montage hotel Our favorite place to get a massage, and go for a sauna and steam. With a beautiful indoor and outdoor lap pool to stretch out your muscles after a long day on the slopes.

EAT

Coffee / Brunch

Harvest An Australian-style breakfast & lunch with delicious healthy bowls, avocado toasts and smoothies. Just off Main St.

Five Seeds Another Aussie style healthy spot. A personal fav is the Shakshouka Moroccan baked eggs and their golden tumeric latte.

River Horse provisions  A specialty market, deli, and coffee shop located at the top of Main St. Featuring the culinary excellence of Park City's top rated restaurant, Riverhorse on Main.

Dinner

River Horse  One of the oldest most renowned restaurants on Main St with a classic vibe. I'm crazy for their Macadmia Nut Crusted Alaskan Halibut.

Firewood Seasonal food cooked on a wood fire. We went here for Christmas dinner and it was phenomenal! On Main St.

DRINK

High West Distillery They make their whisky here and their old fashioned is the best I've ever had. *Their burgers are also awesome*

No Name Saloon A ski bums dream bar - super casual (wear your ski pants!)

Après Ski

Stein Eriksen Lodge An authentic European ski lodge named after Norwegian Olympic Gold Medal skier, Stein Eriksen.

St. Regis Deer Valley Love to sit by the fire on their outdoor patio and take in the stunning views.

Shop

Cake Boutique. Chic cosy pieces and all the natural beauty essentials you could ask for!

Root'd Fav place for home decor and unique jewelry pieces!

Gorsuch Beautiful designer clothing and ski gear.
